To all our Island Inn friends,
Even Monhegan, which has represented an escape from everyday cares for generations of visitors, cannot escape the devastating effects of the COVID-19 public health emergency. As we prepare for the 2020 season, we have been working non-stop to adapt everything we do in order to keep you and our staff safe. Sadly, based upon the best scientific information available, we’ve come to the conclusion that we must delay our traditional Memorial Day weekend opening until June 22nd . This will allow us to bring staff from around the country to the Island in an orderly, safe manner and to implement the most up-to-date safety protocols possible. It’s our hope that this will then allow us to open safely for the remainder of the 2020 season.
In order to help everyone plan amidst so much uncertainty, any reservation may be cancelled within 7 days of arrival with a full refund and no cancellation fee. If a reservation is cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival, deposits may be applied to any future stay.
Please know that we will do everything in our power to keep our staff and guests safe throughout your visit while maintaining our standards for comfort and Island-style hospitality. Some examples of changes include the elimination of all shared baths while maintaining our shared bath rates, dramatically reducing the number of seats in our dining room, but beginning dinner service earlier, and a redesigned check-in process that will minimize waiting. These are just a few of the many adaptations that we’re making so that you can relax and safely enjoy all that the Inn and Monhegan have to offer.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Monhegan as we all seek some normalcy and peace in these extraordinarily difficult times. Be safe, support each other and help us all heal together.
