Things To Do
First time visitors often wonder: is there enough to keep me busy on Monhegan Island? Although many folks come here to avoid being too busy and to enjoy the slower pace of island life, there is plenty to see and do in the village and out in the wildlands.
Plan your hike through 9 miles of cliffside, forested and meadow trails with the help of the Monhegan Associates.
2018 marks the 50th anniversary of The Monhegan Museum of Art & History. This summer’s special exhibit will feature works by some 70 artists, including George Bellows, Robert Henri, Edward Hopper, Rockwell Kent, Louise Nevelson, and Andrew Wyeth, among others. The museum has organized many special events all season long to celebrate this milestone.

The Barnacle Cafe on the wharf will continue their concert series this season, hosting musicians from near and far every other Monday evening at 5 pm. Visitors and locals gather together on Thursday evenings at The Barnacle Cafe for trivia, games and other fun events.
